Serious side effects can include suicidal thoughts, manic episodes, serotonin syndrome, bleeding risk, eye effects (such as acute angle glaucoma), and hyponatremia (low sodium in the blood). Compared with the other medications, bupropion has a higher risk of causing seizure, especially if too much is taken at once. As part of your complete medical history, be sure to tell your provider if you have ever had seizures or been diagnosed with a seizure disorder.
