Could I get fertility hormone tests covered by insurance if I ask my doctor for them?

If you ask your OB-GYN for fertility hormone testing they can write a prescription for you, but it often isn’t covered by insurance. This is because the healthcare system doesn’t recognize proactive fertility––often only reactive fertility. Only 17 states cover fertility testing for patients who have already been diagnosed with infertility (you have to prove to your doctor and your insurance company that you’ve been trying for 6 to 12 months, depending on which state you’re in and your age). That means you would likely be billed for the testing.

The Modern Fertility Hormone Test allows you to check in on your fertility hormones at one flat rate. We also include a personalized dashboard and reports that you can track over time, a chat with a fertility nurse who specializes in fertility hormones, access to our weekly webinar, and an invite to the Modern Community. All for $159. We accept payments through FSA and HSA accounts too.
