What should I do if I don't detect a surge?

If you haven't detected a surge with your Modern Fertility Ovulation Tests, there could be a few things going on:

  • Drinking too much water before the test can dilute your urine and impact your result. We recommend avoiding drinking lots of fluids before you test.

  • Bodies are all unique, and it's important to remember that not everyone ovulates every month (or you might ovulate later than you expect.) If you haven't detected a surge in your first cycle using the test, we recommend that you continue to test next month (see tip below!)

  • Some people surge in a short 12-hour window, so another thing that can help is testing twice a day. If you continue having trouble testing twice per day, reach out to your doctor to discuss your unique LH levels and get more information.

  • Make sure you're testing during the right part of your cycle. For more details on when to start testing, check out this article.
