How should I take venlafaxine for hot flashes?

Venlafaxine is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). Take your prescribed dosage daily, with or without food. Many providers recommend patients take venlafaxine at night because it can cause drowsiness, but the rule of thumb is to take it at a time when you’ll remember. Make it part of your daily routine. For example, take it before you brush your teeth every night.
