Plenity reduces metformin absorption when taken without food. Because Plenity should not be used without food (it is meant to be taken 20–30 minutes before a meal), this interaction should never occur.
It is not known if Plenity interacts with other medications. Therefore, all medications that are taken once daily should be taken in the morning (fasting or with breakfast) or at bedtime, as prescribed by your provider. If you take medication with meals or close to meals, the medication should be taken after the meal has started.
This information is not exhaustive, and patients should inform providers of all medications and supplements they are taking to determine if there are any concerning interactions. To learn more about Plenity, go here.
