Sertraline is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI).
Although sertraline can be taken on demand (4–8 hours prior to sex), studies have shown that daily dosing at a convenient time (such as in the morning when you brush your teeth) is much more effective and easier for most men.
That’s why we usually recommend daily dosing. Taking a pill at the same time every day becomes part of a routine and removes the requirement to prepare differently on days that you have sexual activity. Please see the full Prescribing Information here.
