BPH stands for benign prostatic hyperplasia. BPH is a uniform, noncancerous enlargement of the prostate gland. It is a very common condition that occurs as men age and the prostate continues to grow. One of the problems with BPH is that it can cause troublesome urinary symptoms due to compression of the bladder or compression of the urethra. These symptoms, which are called lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), include:
- Urinary frequency
- Urinary hesitancy
- Urinary retention
- Frequent nighttime urination
- A weak stream during urination
There are many treatments for BPH. These include medications such as finasteride, dutasteride, and tamsulosin, surgery, and certain other procedures that can be performed. Roman’s Prostate Health supplement isn’t intended to treat BPH and isn’t a substitute for treatments prescribed by your healthcare provider.
