Who Should Not Use Melatonin?

If you have any of the following conditions, you should not use melatonin:

  • Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Children under the age of 18 (Rory-affiliated physicians do not provide medication to anyone under 18)
  • Patients on immunosuppressive medication
  • Patients with medical conditions that suppress their immune systems
  • Patients with depression or depressive disorder

 

Melatonin should be used with caution in people with:

  • Bleeding disorders
  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Seizure disorders
