What Is the Difference Between Premature Ejaculation (PE) and Erectile Dysfunction (ED)?

PE and ED are different conditions that are often confused with each other. PE is defined as ejaculating sooner than desired and causing distress to one or both partners.

ED means difficulty achieving or maintaining satisfactorily rigid erections.

One reason the conditions are frequently confused is because men simply complain of problems maintaining their erections. If they lose their erections because they ejaculate too soon, that’s PE. If they lose their erections because they simply can’t maintain them, in the absence of ejaculation, that’s ED.
