Option for People Taking Nitrates
If you take nitrates for chest pain and you have ED, there are 2 paths that you can take.
1️⃣ Talk to your cardiologist about other medications
You can talk to your cardiologist about using something else for the angina other than nitrates. Some options include beta blocker (propranolol, metoprolol, carvedilol, etc.), calcium channel blockers (amlodipine, felodipine, etc.) and ranolazine. You should not change your medication regimen without talking to your doctor first.
2️⃣ Alternatives to Viagra, Sildenafil, Levitra, & Cialis
You can use other options to treat ED besides the PDE 5 inhibitors. There are options including intracavernosal alprostadil (an injection directly into the penis that treats ED), intraurethral alprostadil (MUSE), vacuum pumps, and as a last resort, penile implants.
