Do Higher Doses Last Longer?

TLDR; No.

The duration of the medication’s effectiveness does not increase, even though higher doses tend to be effective in a higher percentage of men.

In general, the half life of Viagra (and sildenafil) for example is 4-5 hours. That means in 4-5 hours half of the medicine is out of your system, in 8-10 hours 75% is out of your system, and so on.

The rate of elimination of the medication from your system does not change based on the dose.

In addition, higher doses have a higher risk of side effects.

For this reason, physicians recommend that you take the lowest dose that is effective for you.
